Teaching Hobbies with Craft Happy!

Yesterday I showed you how to document art with the Craft Happy paper packet. Today, I want to share knitting elements in the paper packet. Now, look closely. What you think may be dashed lines are really the Craft Happy Rub-Ons! They are so easy to use and so much fun. Look closely at the baskets of yarn. They have a white stitched border at the top. But guess what? I added that with rub-ons, too!

Let's take a closer look and you'll find the directions below the photo.

Step 1: Use Bright White Cardstock for the base of the layout.

Step 2: Cut a piece of Stripes paper to measure 12” x 6”. On the left side of the piece, make a pencil mark at 4”.  Cut the paper diagonally from the 4” mark to the top of the 6” edge.  Adhere the small cut piece to the top of the page, and the large piece to the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Adhere black rub-on straight stitches below the top diagonal piece and above the bottom diagonal piece.  HINT:  Use your trimmer to cut the rub-ons off the sheet before working with them.  You may want to use a removable tape to hold the two sheets together as you cut.  I used the pointed end of my Multi-Purpose to transfer the rub-ons, and it worked great!

Step 4: Cut a piece for Navy cardstock to 12” x 1¾”.  From the Mat paper pack, cut a crochet border to 12” x 1½”. Adhere to Navy cardstock.  Place this border ½” from the bottom of the page.

Step 5: Cut two 4¼” x 6¼” photo mats from Navy Cardstock.  Adhere the left mat 3” from the bottom and 1¾” from left edge.  Adhere the right mat 3” from the bottom and 1¾” from the right edge.

Step 6: Tuck the stuffed animals vellum embellishment under the left photo followed by the yellow heart with knitting needles.  Use foam tape to add the green yarn heart as shown.

Step 7: Find the knitting baskets vellum embellishments.  Cut a white straight stitch rub-on from the borders.  Carefully transfer the rub-ons to the rims of the knitting baskets.  It’s a fun way to use them!  Adhere this vellum piece to the lower right of the right photo.

Step 8: Cross the knitting needles stickers and place them as shown next to the right photo with the tips going under the knitting baskets.  Next add the sentiment sticker above the baskets as shown.

Step 9: Journal as desired.
