Every month, I love challenging myself to look at the Creative Memories Simple Page Kit with fresh eyes. This month’s December kit was especially fun to work with because it provided a beautiful foundation—perfect for taking things just a step further.

Story Behind the Page
These photos capture my niece's family's fun at a holiday event that is becoming a favorite holiday tradition for their family—those sweet, fleeting moments that seem to pass all too quickly. I wanted this layout to feel festive and joyful, but also timeless enough to let the photos tell their story. By re-imagining the Simple Page Kit, I was able to honor their memories while adding my own creative touches that make the pages feel personal and meaningful.
Design Notes
For this set of pages, I completely cut the kit apart and rebuilt it from the ground up. I focused on creating strong visual flow by adding borders at the top and bottom and using embellishment clusters to anchor the photos. Flowers, gems, and layered elements were grouped intentionally so the eye moves naturally across the page. A neutral background allowed the photos and embellishments to shine without feeling busy.
Tips & Techniques
Don’t be afraid to cut apart a Simple Page Kit—it gives you more flexibility and creative freedom.
Use clusters to keep embellishments contained and visually balanced.
Borders help ground the design and give the page a finished look.
A white gel pen is the perfect finishing touch for faux stitching, doodling, and small details that add charm and texture.
Step back often as you design—this helps ensure your photos remain the focal point.
Re-imagining Simple Page Kits is one of my favorite ways to blend ease with creativity. I hope these pages inspire you to take a fresh look at your kits and make them truly your own.
