🎄 Deck the Halls with a Dash of Rhythm!

There’s something so merry and bright about this layout! I used The Magic of Christmas collection and added a little twist with the new Rhythm Trimmer Blade—and wow, do I love the movement it brings! The gentle diagonal line dances across the page, guiding your eyes right to the photos and heartfelt journaling. It feels like the rhythm of Christmas itself—playful, joyful, and full of sparkle.

I wanted this page to capture that moment when the season starts to mean more—when decorating the tree turns from a flurry of excitement over ornaments into a time of stories, laughter, and growing hearts.

The layering of patterned strips, the shimmer of gold, and the sweet little embellishments from Magic of Christmas make this page shine. Whether you’re trimming trees or trimming paper, this design celebrates the beauty of both!

Supplies Used

• Magic of Christmas Paper Pack

• Caramel Cardstock (1 sheet)

• Bright White Cardstock (1 sheet)

• Cranberry Cardstock (1 sheet)

• Gold Shimmer Paper (1 sheet)

• Magic of Christmas Stickers

• Gold Metallic Dual-Tip Pen

• Black Micro-Tip Pen

• Rhythm Trimmer Blade

Instructions

Step 1: Use Brown Stripes for the base of the layout. Gut a 10” square from the center and use the square and reserve for another project.

Step 2: Cut a piece of Bright White cardstock to measure 11½” x 11½”.  Adhere to base. 

Step 3:  Cut the following pieces using the Rhythm Blade on one long edge and set aside: 

• 9” x 1” Caramel cardstock

• 4” x 3” Pretty Red Bows paper

• 3” x ½” Pine Branches paper

• 4” x 3” Gold Shimmer paper

• 3” x ½” Gold Shimmer paper

Step 4:  Cut the following pieces and set aside: 

• 10¾” x 1” Holiday Foliage paper

• 1¼” x 1” Holiday Foliage paper

• 1¼” x 1½” Holiday Foliage paper

• 1” x 1¼” Holiday Foliage paper (reverse)

• 1½” x 2¼” Pine Branches paper

• (2) 4-1/8” x 3-1/8” Cranberry cardstock

 Step 5:  Build your page in the following order:

• 9” x 1” Caramel:  6½” from bottom

• 10¾” x 1” Holiday Foliage:  dovetail left end and adhere 6” from the bottom

• 4” x 3” Gold Shimmer:  3¾” from bottom and 1¼” from right edge

• 4” x 3” Pretty Red Bows:  4¼” from bottom and 3¼” from left edge

• 4-1/8” x 3-1/8” Cranberry photo mat:  3¾” from bottom and 2½” from left edge

• 4-1/8” x 3-1/8” Cranberry photo mat:  3¼” from bottom and 1¾” from right edge

• 1” x 1¼” Holiday Foliage (reverse):  dovetail and place 4” from right edge and 2” from bottom (you will tuck under photo mat)

• 1½” x 2¼” Pine Branches:  dovetail and place 2¾’ from right edge and 1” from the bottom (you will tuck under photo mat)

• 1¼” x 1½” Holiday Foliage:  dovetail and place 2¼” from right edge and 1¼” from bottom (you will tuck under photo mat)

• 3” x ½” Pine Branches paper: straight edge up, place 2½” from the top and 1½” from the left edge

• 3” x ½” Gold Shimmer paper:  straight edge down, place 2” from top and left edge

Step 6:  Finish with stickers as shown using foam squares as desired and dots with your Gold Metallic Pen
