✨ This simple, elegant layout was created by request for one of my customers who wanted something meaningful for Christmas church photos—and it turned out beautifully. The Star of Wonder Black Friday bundle is filled with serene colors, classic patterns, and just the right amount of shimmer. For this design, I focused on clean lines, layered borders, and a spacious photo arrangement that makes it easy to showcase your favorite Christmas moments.
🌟 Story Behind the Page
Every December, so many of us find ourselves sitting in pews or auditorium seats, watching the people we love celebrate Christmas in song, story, and tradition. When my customer asked me to create a layout specifically for church services and programs, I immediately knew the Star of Wonder bundle would be perfect.
The colors feel peaceful and reverent.The icons lean into the true meaning of the season.And the soft shimmer—and those layered borders—give the pages the quiet glow of candlelight.
As I worked, I kept thinking about the timelessness of Christmas services—the way we return to familiar songs and scriptures year after year. I wanted this layout to echo that feeling: classic, calm, and full of wonder.
⭐ Design Notes
The star of this layout (pun joyfully intended!) is the layered border along the top. I paired one of the laser-cut borders with a punched border created using Platinum Shimmer Paper and the Star of Wonder punch. These two pieces nest together beautifully, giving the layout a polished, elevated look without adding complexity.
Across the bottom of the pages, I added another set of borders—this time featuring the sweet angel design from the laser-cut pack. This helps visually balance the layout and ties everything together with calm, peaceful movement.
The photo mats stay clean and consistent so your pictures remain the focus. The colors make this layout ideal for:

A few embellishments were added with foam adhesive to give soft dimension without overwhelming the page.
🧰 Design Tips & Techniques
1. Layering Borders for Impact
Layering the laser-cut border with the Star of Wonder punch creates instant elegance. Tip: Use shimmer paper for the punched border—it catches the light beautifully without being too flashy.
2. Balance Top and Bottom Borders
Using angels along the bottom grounds the layout and adds visual harmony. When you have an ornate top border, repeating a border along the bottom helps everything feel complete.
3. Keep the Photo Mats Simple
With bold borders, neutral mats keep the eye focused where it belongs: on your photos. A clean white matting is all you need to make pictures stand out against patterned papers.
4. Add Subtle Dimension
Use just a few foam squares under embellishments or stickers. I only used them under the candle sticker on the right page. This gives the layout a lifted look without making it feel crowded.
5. Repeat Shapes & Motifs
Stars at the top, stars between the angels, stars in the center embellishment—repeating the motif ties the entire spread together effortlessly.
