I really love creating pages of the times that I spend with my husband. When we camped over our anniversary in August, we visited a state park. Chester really enjoyed the hikes, the lake, and so much time in the water! We have never been to Jay Cooke State Park even though it is so close to use, and oh my goodness! It was so beautiful there, and I loved starting this story. You will see some more pages of this trip before I am done, so I'll tell you more in the coming days.
I used Bright White cardstock for the base. I just have to say, if you have not tried Bright White yet, you will love how sturdy it is! If you know me, you know that's how I start all of my pages, and it needs to be a firm base. So I highly recommend this smooth paper if you are looking for a good white. Have a steady base is also important when you want to splatter like I did on this one. I used a Close To My Heart Avocado Shimmer Brush.
The Creative Memories designer paper I used is called Leave Nothing Behind. The patterns are perfect to document this trip. Leave Nothing Behind also has laser cut paper, texture paper, and embellishments so be sure to take a look at those! The green paper is 6 x 8, and it is placed 1" from the bottom and 1.25" from the left side. The blue paper is 4 x 11. and it is placed 2" from the bottom and 0.75" from the left side. The camping paper is 3 x 12, and it is 1.5" from the left side. I've used Black cardstock to mat the 4 x 4 photos. You can cut them at 4.5" square or do as I did and cut them at 4-1/8" square. They are placed 2-1/4" from the bottom and left edge.
The title is from Close To My Heart dies or you could use the Cricut font called Street Sign. If you decide to use the Cricut font, the height is 2." My chipboard embellishments are all from 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Nature Study. They are my favorite go to nature embellishment, but unfortunately they are retired, and I can't get more! If you like them, do a Google search to try to find a package of them.
I really appreciate you coming to visit! I made a lofty goal for myself in trying to get daily pages up for you. I have learned something this month. It takes me a long time to tell a story about my memories, and I cannot always do a page a day. When I go to 4-day retreats, it's probably why I can't be that person that gets 40 pages done. I take the time to look through a series of photos, choose the best ones, decide on sizes for the photos, match to the paper, and then journal the story. Not to mention moving around the photos and paper to my liking! Along with memory keeping, I truly enjoy the process of all of this.
So I tell you all of this because I was not able to get daily pages up this month. Hopefully by explaining my process, you understand! But the good news is that I've put up sixteen pages in the last six weeks. Yay for new ideas, and the even better thing is that those ideas will be there forever to look back on!
